Smartphone Photography Class Week One

I got the opportunity to take a class at the local institute of art for work on taking better photos with your smartphone camera. Even though I started the course with the intention of taking better photos as a journalist on stories, I am enjoying the more artistic side to photography as well. This course is three Saturdays in a row and we had the first class last week. After learning how to use the camera app and some of its features, we got to take photos around the art gallery.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the first class:

I think that the paper weights (the last two images) were my favorite to photograph. They were in their own individual case that was lit up. It made it easy to get really close so that I could focus on the detail of each piece. I also really loved the texture of the paint in the cake painting. It was just so cool to see the way the light hit it.

I'm excited to see what the next class is like.

Welcome to My Blog

Hi there and welcome to my blog!

I'm Meghan and I'm a 23-year-old, living in Michigan. I'm a journalist, a writer, and I also dabble in PR/Marketing. I am an ISFJ, bisexual, and a Hufflepuff. I'm an avid coffee drinker, book lover, and a pet mom to a cat named Minerva and a dog named Dempsey. I like camping, cross stitching, and I'm learning to play the ukulele.

I wanted to start this blog because I have been looking for a way to become okay with being 100 percent myself, to share my life and experiences, and to be unafraid to share my original content. Mostly, I wanted to start this blog to remind myself that even though my anxiety might try to stop me, I can still create and do things that might feel impossible.

So you can expect to see posts about my every day life from weekend trips to pet posts and everything in between. You can expect to see some of my original work and some writing tips that have helped me along the way. You can expect recipes I tried, books I'm currently reading.

Basically, expect to see my life here, as I am living it and sharing it with you. It's scary knowing that I am going to be so open here, but that is part of the fun.

I hope you are as excited as I am to start this journey.
